Karzan Sherabayani was arrested and tortured by Sadaam Hussein’s secret police whilst still a teenager. Lucky to escape both his captors and the Baathist regime, he returns to his native Kirkuk in northern Iraq thirty years later, to exorcise his past, reflect on the present and explore the future that awaits the Kurds of Iraq.
